Unhappy !988 22RE Toyota 4x4 Thermo Time Switch

It's been a minute since my last visit. Does any1 know where I can obtain a "Thermo Time Switch" for my '88 22RE 4x4. I have searched every parts store, junk yard, pull-a-part, dealer, in the USA. I even pulled over a stranger in Costa Rica, who had a similar truck. The head of this 'spark plug looking' device rotates freely from the plug which is inserted into the head of the engine. It is not suppose to. [There are x2 sensors next to eachother on the block-this one is the one closest to the passengers side, NOT the one on the drivers side.] Each time I order this on Rock Auto, they send me the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor), which is not the same part, and not interchangeable. I now have x3 of them that they will not take back. SO, does anyone know where I can purchase one that works? OR, does anyone know how/IF this can be bypassed in order to make the vehicle start in colder temps? Any knowledgeable assistance would be greatly appreciated! (-;

Just thought I'd let you know that I made a by-pass several years ago that works fine. It's nothing but a switch on the end of two wires in the cab, that run through a few resistors on a little board in the engine bay. cost about $5 bucks. The resistors are just to mimics what was in the original thing--the time switch.. Not sure they are needed. works great and saved me about $150 bucks. I'd tell you what the resistors are, but the truck is not here. It's stalled across town with tthe"dreaded heat-soak Leak Issue-again!" Good luck with your fix. (:>.
