Back Up switch - too short

Back Up switch - too short
91 pick up - replaced trans with remanufactured w56b - did not come with reverse light switch. went to 5 different auto parts stores including Toyota and they all give me the same switch that is about a half inch too short. The fill plug that came in the reman has the plunger ball on the end but no plug for wiring. Any help finding a fit would be greatly appreciated.

The fill plug is not the place for the back up light switch
Take a picture of what your calling the fill plug .
If you do indeed have the correct hole and none of the switches work did you forget pieces from your old transmission .
Something not spaced correct on the rebuild??

Thanks for the response wyoming9 - I called it the "Fill plug" but what I meant was the plug they used to fill the hole where the back up sensor should be. Here in VA, I found out that if I remove the reverse lights (bulbs & socket) it will pass inspection....so that's what I did. I believe you are correct that something internal on the rebuild must not be in line to depress the switch to activate the lights. But for now, I'm calling this fixed!
