ok that last link is going ot be exteemly help ful.

im testing the primary coil wire right now , and heres the readings i get

on the 20k setting i get 0.54
on the 200k setting i get .5

is this a correct reading acording to the paper work i should get a maximum resitence of 25k ?
im so lost when it comes ot reading this damn ohmeter.

ok, so my coil wire is good ,
i checked the efi relay and its good .

the primary coil resistance is off though, i got a reading of .8 and the paperwork shows it should be .36-.55, the secodnary coil resistance was within peramiters though.

i checked both coil the one that was o nthe vehicle and the one i bought at the junkyard, both had the same readings .
ok im getting power to the coil , i screwed up and withthe wire discounnected , was tryingto see if power was at the coil instead of trying to check the power coming in, im a dummy .

so the only thingi found thats been out of whack so far has been the coil , im heading ot the salvage yard , and im bringing the ohm meter with me to see if any give me a better reading.

ok, i checked the other coils from the junk yard and they give the same reading , the guys there think its the ingitor , they gave me another ot try out and it still didnt work .
according to all the things ive read online and i nthe haynes manual , the only thing to do after checking all the other things is to replace the ignitor , which isnt cheap.
does anyone else have any ideas ?

ok, im really confused , the guys at the junk yard told me they dont sell the ignitors and coils unless they came from a vehicle that starts , so i can only assume without spending the 200 to 400 on a new ignitor that its something else.
my next guess would be its not getting fuel , i cant find anything in the fsm online that someone kindly posted , on if theres a fuel line i can disconnect to see if fuel is pumping. im back to working on this alone so its tough to key up and look , but i need ot find out for sure if fuels getting up before i buy the new ingitor

Disconnect this fuel line and crank with a rag under it to see if any fuel comes out.

DId you do the fuel line check?????? another way of doing that check is to crank it for a full minute with the gas pedal on the floor.....if you smell gas in the exh then of course you are getting fuel to clys......HOWEVER THE ABOVE can cause a back fire if you does get some spark in there so be careful trying it that way....pulling the fuel line can be much safers......Glad to here it is not the timing belt.....

94 4runner, new fuel pump, fuel filter, cap, rotor plugs, wires, EFI relay, 2 main relays under dash.disconnected fuel in side of line, no fuel comes out. before i drop the fuel tank again, is there a way to check to see if the fuel pump is not a defect thru the wire plug?

Yep:

Install jumper, turn on ignition and you should hear the pump run if it is working and getting power.

Take length of wire (the jumper) and shove it into the two pins (FP and +B) as shown in the picture linked on the page above or if you are having trouble with the link, below:

With the help of this awesome braddah, dropped the fuel tank, went to change the fuel pump and discovered i did NOT fully mesh the wire connector. once that was gorilla gripped (heard it click into itself) reinstalled everything, started up fine....back in action.
