Your Saying they will remove your engine rebuild ( As in replace all worn parts and do needed machine work) install the engine in your vehicle making sure all is good to go!!
All This for $1300.00 .
Are they just swapping in someone engines or do they rebuild in house
Sounds way to Cheap unless they are installing China or Mexico rebuilds
Then maybe you misquoted on just what the $1300.00 buys.
Within the last few months depending just what machine work is needed that figure might cover the cost of the engine rebuild not the pulling and installing labor for sure.

That is way cheap for a rebuild, remove and install. My last rebuild I had around 800 into it. I had to have it bored, other machine work, parts. I had a good head so avoided the cost of any head work. I would double check what all you are getting.
I have bought rebuilt engines for around 1100 from United Engine (if I recall right) a company in Compton Ca. not to far up the road from you and have been great motors. I know of 4 of them on the road here in my area.
Just installing the head and everything else that attaches to it is time consuming. At shop rates that is not leaving much for labor time for their price. I would be concerned at what they are saying. With a good tune up and fluids that is 100 or more.
