94 5 speed manual trans question?

Ok new guy here so dont be to hard on me. I have a 94 xtra cab 4x4 with the V6 and 5 speed. I was think about changing the transmission oil so i got under the truck to find the drain plug. The manual says it is on the bottom but it looks like it is the 24mm bolt on the passenger side. Is that correct? Also is the the 24 mm bolt on the driver side the fill bolt? There is a hex head plug on the passenger side that is more than half way up the trans, is that the fill/check hole?

Any info will be great thanks.

theres two plugs, they are both 24mm. the lowest point you can find is the drainplug, and the one halfway up is the fill. make sure you can take the fill out first, otherwise youll have to pull your shifter out to fill the tranny back up.

You are correct. The tranny takes 75w/90 - about 3 qts.

I have had trouble taking out my fill plug. I would suggest soaking all the plugs with PB Blaster several times a day until they loosen up. The bolts deform pretty easily if they're torqued too hard.

Make sure you take the fill plug out first. Nothing sucks like taking out the drain plug and then realizing you can't get the fill plug off to refill something.
