Hello all, as the title says I have a 94 Runner that currently has a blower motor thats not working. Heres what I have done so far:

Checked all fuses, AND relays (per wiring schematic even powered them to test)

Swapped out relays for different ones

Swapped out the resistor for a different one

Pulled and bench tested the blower motor

Replaced the blower switch with a brand new one

Pulled HVAC control unit from dash and checked the wiring pigtail that leads to the blower switch, found a charred looking wire, so, went to the junk yard and cut the wiring harness from the inner firewall and spliced it into my runner with a good switch in place, verified power with text light only

And now I am pretty much at a loss, what else could be the issue? I feel like I have a wiring gremlin and cant find him

 

Forgive my lack of proper terms, but since you've got no other responses..

Your motor works, and your switch works. That leaves only whats in the middle.

Inbetween the duct box and blower unit is the assembly that houses the heater core, located either on the front or top of this is a control box. It has a trim knob with a label "RPM" embossed on it. Check the power conditions on both sides, it's likely dead and what burnt the wiring up.

If it has power on both sides, it's likely a current draw issue and you've overlooked another crispy wire.

When all else fails find where the power is good and work down stream.

 

Well, not sure what the true problem is, but the fuse block for the heater was double grounded? Both sides were dead, but when I powered one side with a fused 12volt supply, everything worked fine? So either there is a bad wire feeding power, or something that is supposed to be switching the power is not functioning.

 

Is your fuse not making a good connection in the fuse block??

Perhaps the fuse or the female socket is corroded might not be visible to your eye but enough to not work.

If your fuse was double grounded(???) then as soon as power was applied in the circuit your inline fuse would have opened.

Have you measured the voltage at any place in the circuit??
