Cool HELP - Timing 22RE - With New Parts

All,

looking for information on how to ensure the timing is correct on a 92 PU / 4x4.

Sticker says 5BTDC. New block, headers, exhaust, K&N intake and all the other little parts (plugs, wires, coil...)

When i jumper and adjust the timing the more i move to 8-12 BTDC the better the truck runs and the RPMs increase. I have set it to 5BTDC, but it seems to run better at about 8BTDC.

Concerns??? Advice???

Thanks! David
