Okay, had another thread about finding that gremlin that was causing me back window to not work. Long story short replaced the relays and cleaned the switch between the seats and she works great.
NOW, when the window lowers all the way the lock for the gate is not disengaging like it use to. Does anyone know how to fix this? Six months ago when I started this project I had the tailgate motor out as well I had the glass out and even unbolted the tailgate regulator but I didn't take it out. I then put it all back together........or so I thought like I had it. It's almost as if the regulator is not completing the opening process and unlatching the lock.
This seems to be the culprit as the cable arm does not line up with the plastic release mechanism.
So I have to manually twist the arm in order to get the lock to unlock.
What am I missing? How can I fix this? Seems like a simple fix but after a long day of work yesterday between my regular job and then solving the electrical issue I am just not seeing straight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
...I took the regulator out......and when it is all the way down the lock function is disengaged. I just need to line up the teeth of the regulator. I am assuming that they line up right at the edge......which side is on top and which is on the bottom...teeth wise that is or is there enough play?
All fixed. It's been so long since I've used the back window that I though the lock "unlocked" when the window was rolled down. It only locks when the window goes up. At any rate......new regulators and cleaned the front switch......works fast and consistent.
