Yep, install with the engine at #1 TDC, and the rotor pointing at 12:00. The rotor will rotate counterclockwise as you push it in, to point at the number one point.

Jerry-

GOOD JOB!

Keep going, you are quite close.

thanks man.....I owe all you guys a beer.

I figured out something quite simple....it's at #1 TDC when the mark on the crankshaft pulley is at zero and the bright link is at the top of the top sprocket too....then One complete turn and I guess I'm at #2 TDC....right or wrong?

IIRC 1 complete turn would put #1 at TDC on the exhaust stroke, remember that the piston goes up & down 2 times per combustion event!

From: Bryan Tx,
I gave a good effort to get you a pic of that bracket last night, but with everything already assembled & in the truck, I can barelly even see it more less get a decent pic. If the radiator still leaks & I have to take it out I can get you a nice shot. Sorry 92 TOY, I will try to make it up to you by finding a good pic somewhere else. I think Ol' harleyman had a good one.

That's OK, you've got your own mess to contend with.

from what I saw from BLEEDER's pic, it looks like it hooks in with / intertwined with the brace for the power steering.

figuring out bank account balances as wee speak...OUCH! is all i can say to that.

am going to call the local Toyota dealer to give them my list (belts, hose, crush washer,FIPG) and see what they come up with...and see where that leaves me.....GRRRRRRR!

not off today, going in around noon, so i am not going to do anything on the truck today, tomorrow, more training until noon and then maybe start messing with the bottom of the block and start checking out about putting the pan back on.......as long as I can get that pan on, then i will move on to put the DIFF and all that crap back on and then I will systematically move on to the exhaust and intake and on and on until i run out of bags of stuff to put back on.

See post #41 & 44. The end with the single bolt hole goes strait to the block, right beside the timing cover & the other end supports the power steering pump bracket. Hope this helps...this is the same link you gave me when I couldn't figure it out, once you hold it up there it will all come together.

thanks....actually, when i read those posts / pics, i realized i didn't anchor down the dipstick tube and ran down, had my son do that and the ended up just goofing off with the family for the rest of the night.

i'm very pic driven ...probably has everything to do with my brain, but it's better for me to see stuff than read about it.

Also, the bright link is not a good indicator, you would use the matchmarks on the cam sprocket and the rocker assembly.

so i got a bright idea today.....

I was thinking about calling the dealer and checking on ordering the parts and then I remembered the trdparts4ru.com guy Gerone who is on here.....so I checked their site.....massive savings compared to here. i'm waiting to hear back about availability and shipping...my list is short but is:

coolant hose
a/c belt
power steering belt
alternator belt
thermostat
22re sticker
crush washers
FIPG

if he does me good, and I bet he will, I will order from him....sucks for me because I imagine all these parts aren't in stock, or maybe they are....just have to wait and see.

Good deal man...Once you get that pan on and start on the top it's smooth sailing. You really only have about 3 days of work to do and that's alone, maybe 4 depending on how the lower half goes. You'll have her running before long.

I have faith!!! You gotta have faith!!!
