doing well, not progressing as fast as I'd like.

I will always provide any info I can while I am here...and the best is personal experience.

Keep everything in order. Put it all back the way it was.

Check out Putney's other videos. I see they have added more since I last checked. The ring and piston installation ones almost made me sick. What that guy did in a few minutes took me hours. But, a big part of doing projects ourselves is to learn. Crawl, walk, run...

Thanks.........gotta get a grip on what to do....maybe start today, who knows.

wow...blurry...

But , instead i did arts and crafts......hahahahaha

My plan / concern is that I want to take it all apart at the same time so I'm not chasing around anything....that's my plan, not sure i'm going to do it that way but making those little things chewed up 30 minutes...hahahhahaa.

a cup for each spring and a cup for each other little piece and then a box to spike the valve in.

Dont forget to number the holes for the valves also so they go back in the same spot.

OK.

so once i figured out "how" to get this stuff apart , it kinda flowed well.

I tried several times to compress the spring enough to show me it's keeper and it just didn't happen. a quick pop from the palm of my hand would force the valve up enough to show the keepers...some fell right off, some had to be picked off.

all in all, it's a good thing so far. Only had enough time to do the exhaust side before I heard "JER!!!!........" being yelled through the garage door........GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

lots of cleaning to do......bought me a very small tube brush and more carb cleaner.

anyways, her's some pics.

Not 100% sure, I'll be able to answer that question tonight or tomorrow morning. I do know what my next move is going to be but what results will it give me is in the air.

so seriously...is doing the valves THAT easy?

I just have the 4 exhaust ones out and all the components safely tucked in the truck.

To me it was hard to tell what was part, what was oil / thermagasket...seriously.

so when I get all cleaned up...lap the valve, new oil seal and pop each one back in...that's it?? The mating surface on the valve looked really good. the surface of the valve is like coarse sandpaper...don't know how, if at all I'm going to get the suction cup to hook on.

anyway...I'm not very worried about that part, I'm more concerned / happy , to remove all the crud from in there.....and put new seals on.

thanks ^^^^

just got home.

last night I was a "little" frustrated after work and decided to go out and take the intake valves off.....#3 was tough to get out...the rest were the same as the others.

the intake valves are fine on the surface...just carbon...so i stand corrected. the exhaust valves are like coarse sandpaper....if i want to rel=place any it would be them, but it looks like they were seated nicely ...so if anything i will just lap them the best i can and put stuff back together.........

work tomorrow too........
