By the way, Toy, LCE has those crank bolts for $9.95. not sure what shipping is for them, but i just ordered their header studs and some stickers, shipping was just $7.00.

yes, but i dont know who made it, its a 4-1 though wish it was the doug tri-y. came with the truck definitely not factory. No stamping on it, I am guessing maybe a pacesetter. but dont know. I wish i had a camera, i would take a pic of it. someone on here must know who made it haha.

i was just surfing LCE, wish i had remembered that whe this site was down.

there is about a 2 mile hill to get out here, i don't think the BMW wil cut it. I had borrowed a big diesel dodge to tow the '88 runner out here.

when you get that truck running, coming up that hill would be a test for it.

 

You'd be surprised how much power that Bmw had hehe, I just raced a guy at work that has a 1998 Taurus SHO, he did not pull on me whatsoever. The guy was bragging at work how fast his car was haha. And this thing has 273,000 miles on it fully stock original plug wires and the valves tick like an sob too.. hehe

So since I cleaned the grage and did MOST of my chores (honey-do list for you married guys, you understand)....I figured it was time to mess around a little.

Following my Pizza-box-template, which is VERY handy thanks to 4crawler's write-up (i transferred the measurements onto a pizza box and poked holes and put the bolts in the holes)....let me say this much. Being this far into it, there are bolts I took out long ago that I assume that if you don't have air-conditioning, you would be taking out now for the 1st time.

Vey important, since its an automatic transmission, is to remove the transmission fluid line from the cover.....not remove it, just remove the bolt....see pic below

hey, where do i get a new coolant hose for from the block to the water pump?

 

I'd add it to the list of parts to buy from Toyota. Surprisingly, Toyota doesn't rape us on radiator hoses. And you know it will fit, unlike the one I got from Napa.

 

My thoughts exactly.......the crankshaft bolt, that hose, and belts and FIPG.....

 

yoou talking the hose from the block to the hard pipe or the hard pipe to the pump?

I'm done.....supper is cooking and house is mostly clean and watching Penn State and drinking coffee.

 

By the way, for everybody seeing this, all the wetness is mostly PB BLaster.....until I took the cover off, then i was water. But boy,oh boy, alot of old oil at the bottom of the cover and driver's side too.

 

autozone has that one, thats what i used when i got a pin hole leak that was spraying coolant everwhere!!!!!

ha, after all this is done, be sure to start a new thread with all of your pictures that clearly show why NOT to use stop-leak!

 

NOT convinced anything bad happened because of it. If anything, it did what it was supposed to do....seal. Except it was sealing at the timing chain / water pump breach.....which it apparantly did for about 600 miles. So, I can't talk smack about it....except that without the proper diagnosis, you end up trying to cure the wrong disease.
