92 22re to 86 4runner need help

So here it is guys I'm looking to put this 92 engine that has been rebuild from a donor truck into my 86 runner. I know the long blocks r the same. But my question is how much can I keep off of the engine and use in my runner. I know I have to use my harness and the injector r different but what else is different.
Here why I ask. My 4runner all of the vacuum lines have been capped off and I would like to restore it back to original as I can. My engine is on it's last legs and I need something else ( also I'm not able to rebuild it cause the block is crap and been done already once).
The truck I'm looking at I can get pretty cheap and everything is their but the guys has put all performance part and heads (LCE from top to bottom) did a great job on the engine but I know the long block will work but what else can I use from the truck.
Any information would be great. Thanks guys

I think you will need to change the Throttle Position Sensor. Nearly everything else will transfer over. The way I read your post is just the motor and then further down in your post it sounds like you are talking about the whole '92? A lot of the drive train can swap over. Body wise and interior wise, not much if any.

No I'm just looking to do the engine and vacuum lines. So I guess I need to be more specific. Basically what I'm trying to figure out if I can pull out the 92 and put it directly into my 86 and just change out the fuel injector or is there more modifications I have to make due to the connectors or sending units in the 92 motor

I see you have two different threads going and just caught it. You can swap the motors. Just use your 86 Intake and injectors along with your emissions for the 86.

So r the intake the same basically. Bc the 92 has been bored and polished and mine is bone stock. Also all my emanation stuff is gone. It was taken off by the previous owner that's why I'm trying to keep as much as I can to bring it back to stock as possible. But if not I guess I'll just ride with it like that.

You should be able to make it work. Correct your vacuum lines, VSVs, TPS, and I think that is it, but could miss something.

The 92 being bored and polished doesn't matter.

For the most part, the main vacuum lines should work, they are very similar....You should be able to get it running and then tune from there. I would take a pic of whichever engine has all the vacuum lines routed to use for later or look on the net, there are plenty of pics showing the stock vacuum line routing and all the valves and sensors, then take the engine out of the 92, put the upper intake plenum and injectors from the 86 onto the 92, and drop the engine into the 86.

They both have the same type of transmission (auto or manual)?

Yes they r both manual tranny. Ok thanks the Info I needed. Was just gonna rebuild a new block but I can get away with this cheaper and all the work is done for me. Just have to pull the engine and put into my truck. It's funny this guy out about 3500 buck into this motor and the truck looks like hell and if u didn't know that I wouldn't have give him 500 for the lil 2wd thing. Anyways. Thanks for the info guys. It's what I needed Hope to be sending pics of the swap
