I did a lot of youtube lol! Took me awhile to figure out the distance with the setting and wire speed. Found out a nice little trick too on welding sheet metal and not burning holes

Thanks
Yea 2 weeks ago
The owner of the welder needed it back so I will have to wait till he's done. I'm also still waiting on the fuel cell to come in. Should've been here a few days ago.
I'm looking at 1 or 2 more weeks. It's an "after work" project. Almost done though

Was able to get the welder back from the owner, and got a few things done.
Got rid of the rust on the drivers side
The Fuel cell came in so I worked on the bracket... welds looking better
Bracket took forever for me to make a decision on "is it lined up" lololololol
Had to make some homemade tabs....

How it looks on the bracket.... made some homemade straps to keep the cell in place with scrap sheet metal (14 gauge)
Mounted and ready to weld...
Shot of the inside...

It's ALIVE!!!
Will post some pics later. Took it to the trail last Sunday for a shake down run. I think I need a new fuel pump, so I ordered one just in case lol. Couldn't do anything wild because the front drive shaft is too short for the new leafs I have (3" TG) and fell out once already on a posing shot I wanted to do. Oh well I'm a happy camper

Okay got some pics....nothing from the trail but plan on going in this Sunday. Still need a lot of cleaning up and some bondo. Still waiting on the front drive shaft to come in and the new fuel pump. I will be doing the 130 amp alt swap this week . Anyway, I lost about 250+ pounds!! Talk about a stage 4 weight reduction kit, beat that Jenny Craig!
It handled really great with the new weight loss, not so top heavy anymore and I feel like I have more control now.. anyway, here are some pics. I will post more after the trail run this coming weekend
Before anyone says anything(lol) the lights are temporary. I have some LEDs that I would like to put on the exo later this year.

chelu, when welding sheet metal, it is best to use a 110 welder, pref./mig with a 80-20 mix. Use a "stitch" type method rather then trying to run one consecutive bead. Can't really tell through the pict.'s, but if that is galv. sheet, you might want to prep it a little better (galv. sheet metal is freakin' tough to weld) so you don't burn through it. Also, with all that exposed metal and Guam's tendency to "tenaki" things real fast, I suggest you spray some weld through primer on them fast! BTW, that rear panel needs some structural support welded to it, otherwise it will eventually wobble/flop around and distort itself. Don't use jb weld to seal the panels either, get yourself some seam sealer. So far so good tho! esta!.........
