90' 4Runner chop
Hey all, just thought I'd share my project with you guys.. I got a lot of ideas and info from everyone that has done it here so here it is...
Before I started... http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2485.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2483.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2484.jpg |
everything was already stripped in the rear when I did the wheel wells, saved about an hour :bigok:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2495.jpg removed all the wires.. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2498.jpg |
removed the fuel cell and just ordered another.... i really didnt like this one. It shouldve been upright instead of flat :S
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2505.jpg removed the tire rack(gona miss that thing) and tail gate, thing weighs a ton! http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2501.jpg |
im looking to bob it around 21"-23"... that overhang on runners just not cool
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2514.jpg not turning back now!!! http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2516.jpg |
trimmed the head board thing...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2509.jpg they dont make them like they used too.... http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2511.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2517.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2520.jpg |
i got a lot of info from 4rnnr33, thanks for your thread!! :D ive been waiting to do this for over a year. The rear had some rust.
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2534.jpg mounted the rear to get some visuals.... http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2528.jpg |
pushed it out today to get a better view...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2529.jpg http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2530.jpg 12" more inches to go!!! I'm going really slow when I move it. 'Dont want to cut too much off. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h5...r/IMG_2531.jpg |
That's all I have for now. But ill update as soon as more is done.
|
rather interesting 2 door 4runner you got there.
|
WHAT THE HELL SIZE TIRE DO YOU WHEEL WITH!?!?!? thats some MAJOR fender trimming :chairfall
i kinda like it though..if it had like some fricken 44's on it.... |
I like the creativity but its not for me. Good luck on the fabrication though :) a bobbed 2 door 4runner is a rare truck.

I'm looking forward to seeing it completed with some proper tires under there. Those looks like 33's on there right now.

wth?!?!?! i want to stab you in the face for chopping a 2door runner!!!
|
well, um, that's pretty slick....
|
Love the 2 door 2nd gens, wish I coulda found one when I got mine. Suggestion though from one of my never goeing to happen ideas with my extra Pathfinder... cut whats left of the roof off where it overhangs where the back windows used to be and have a cover made with a window built in? One that would go with the lines of the chop... just a suggestion and kudos for cuttign somethign people are gonna cry about since it's not the everyday 4 door.

Aww damn...you beat me to it, i have never seen a chopped and bobbed 2 door.
My plan for my 2door is to chop and bob it once it gets some bad trail damage. I was hoping to be the first to do it:hillbill: Lookin good, cant wait to see how it turns out. |
