90 3vze runs horrible

Help me please. Just bought the truck, have always wanted one. needed a tune up so I did the usual, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air, fuel. Needed crank pulley, replaced. Now runs really bad. Will start but has a terrible miss and will not rev up at all. All the cyls have good compression,no signs of bad HG, oil is clean, radiator not pressurizing etc. The timing is set @ 10 deg. btdc, as the truck revs the timing looks like it retards. I checked all the specs on ignition parts and all seems to fall w/i specs. The coil resistance is supposed to be 7 ohms to 15 ohms, mine is 7 to 20. Think that this might cause a problem? I hate to just change parts w/o really needing to. If anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Also, no signs of any vacuum leaks either.

Check your firing order. The dist cap will have numbers 1-6 on it. #1 is passenger side nearest the radiator, #2 is driver side nearest the radiator 3-6 follow the same pattern - passenger side 1,3,5, driver side 2, 4, 6.

Thank You guys for the welcome and the reply. Firing order is good. Any way to check igniter, ecm. It does not throw any codes on the check engine light but for some reason I feel it is something in the ignition. I pulled the plugs back out and they are all equally sooted like it is running rich or not burning hot enough.

well it is a 3.slow...

lmao, jk man, jk...

how'd it run before the work?

do you know how old the fuel is in it? I mean, was the thing sitting before you picked it up?

only suggetions I can think of that WONT always throw a CEL is AFM, O2 sensor, TPS, and temp sencor. also, not being a 3.0 guy, do those things have crank-pos. sencors? if so, that's another suggestion...

Check your compression

And welcome to Yotatech!

did you use a good brand of wires? I tossed some el cheapo wires on once ($30 from V.I.P. auto), and the truck ran like garbage till I replaced them with ngk's.
Just a thought.

Tough to time if it won't idle, I wouldn't worry about that right off anyhow though. I'd re-check your spark gaps. Also check fuel pressure or just replace the fuel filter, probably needs one anyhow.

Yes, how was it running BEFORE you did all that? How long have you had it?
