89 yota

I have a 89 yota 4x4 started the other day half mile going down the road it is lagging not sputtering or nothing just lagging. Changed fuel filter but the truck starts and runs fine no problem what could it be. Check engine light is on

Is ur ignition coil plugged on it good?? I put a msd on nine but didnt put it all the way on and it felt like the was trying to die

Yea its on good could it be the mass air flow sensor or would that be a possibility

Did u do anything to this truck before this started or did it come from nowhere mid run

I'm not a rocket scientist or anything, but if you have a check engine light.... wouldn't it make sense to pull the codes??

Also, for the record....your engine dkesn't have a MAF; it's a VAFM (vane air flow meter). They work completely differently.

Yea i can pull the codes juat curious is to see if any of yall had a problem like this and could go right to it. You put the throttle down while in gear feels like you are running half power.

That could be a dozen different things. Pull codes & get back to us....then maybe we can point you in a specific direction.
