89 Toyota pickup V6 engine problem!!!! HELP

So im guessing the injectors are leaking gas cause i smell it....so thats one problem, BUT another thing is the truck doesnt have any power at all, sometimes when the battery light, and the brake light is off it may have some power, but when its on theirs no power at all..can someone please help me find, and fix this problem, labor prices is to high, i cant pay labor, so i have to fix it myself...i bought this engine second hand from a truck that got rear ended. it has 92,xxx miles on it... Thank you!!

well fix the leaking injectors first and then see if that helps, but im not understanding what u are meaning by ur second part, u are not giving us many details as to whats going on, is it that u dont have power when trying to go, or is the alt bad and u have no power to run things, please clarify what u mean.

also input where ur from in ur name so if someone that lives close and can help will do so.

I think we could better help you if you could explain yourself more clearly.

You bought this engine used, then installed it yourself?
How does it start?
How does it run?
Which brake lights? ABS dash warning light, or the actual tail lights?
Have you tried using another battery? Checking the alternator?
Are you sure the fuel EVAP canister lines are hooked up correctly?

We need more clear details of what is going on, please.

Thank you everyone for writting back.
My name is Moana, and im from Molokai, Hawai'i.
i was talking about the break and battery lights on the dash, when it goes on the truck does not have power to GO, and when the lights are off, there is some what power to go, but not to much power. yes its a second hand engine that got swapped by my cousin. i bought a new battery. and i played with the alt...the idle is tooo high when the alt is at the right spot for the truck to gain power. the truck starts up good...

if you are smelling gas, that does not mean you have leaking injectors. when you said "alt" are you possibly refering to the distributer? if so, adjust the timing correctly. there is a hole bunch of how too's on this site..

ok so i took my alt to napas to have it check, and it was still good. but now truck is running with better power, maybe because alt wasnt on good??? because my battery was dead and it was a new battery.

Unfortunately, for the 84-89 manual, you have to download the whole thing. But you NEED a manual; that is where you should go first.

I'm curious; how did you figure out you needed to REPLACE your fuel injectors? An expensive item.

i took my truck in to a mechanic to have the idle checked out, and he said while walking up to the truck he could smell a strong smell of gas, and he looked under the intake manifold and seen a wet spot around the injectors so he took off the intake manifold and he said that the o rings needed to be replaced, and the spray pin plastic was worned out.. also he said it looked like gas was over flowing from the electrical attachment. and yes it is an expensive item. but a family friend has a spare of injectors so he said i can have it........what shall i do???????? labor is to expensive to pay so i wanna do it myself..:/
