I recently bought an 89 4runner it has the 3.0. It has an occassional idle problem and check engine light coming on. it will idle fine sometimes and other times the idle will go up and down from about 700-1300rpm. does anyone know what would be causing this??

 

Check the codes , But it sounds like it might be the throttle position sensor. which would be a code 41.
