Question 89 to 88 3vze differences

I might have a source for a lower mileage 89 3.0 to replace the high mileage 88 in my 4runner now with blown hg. What problems would I run into? I searched but did not find anything definitive. Seems like maybe the mounts are different. Would something have to be fabed up to make it work? Any other differences between the years? Thanks in advance

Yes, mounts and I believe that the injectors were different -high impedance. You can use the top end though, should be easier than swapping in a mid 90s with the differences up there.

Read this.. It should tell you everything you need to know about physical differences. Just use your top end (intake and electronics) on the newer bottom end....
