Hey y’all,

ive had my truck for a few years now. It’s had an intermittent starting issue for a long time. Last year I changed the starter. Then took it out and got it tested- all good.

The issue is coming up more and more, taking longer for it to start. I turn the key and there is a little click over by the starter, that’s it. Then it’ll sometimes start up fine after a few clicks, and sometimes it’ll take a while, and when it starts it’s reallu rough. I have to put the gas full on to get it going and then there’s a cloud of smoke that comes from my tailpipe that’s sorta gray and smell like burning oil I think.

had same problem and did research and found this fix and have not had any starting issues for 4 years now.

I know this is an obvious thing but have you checked battery and engine grounds?

 

Ive got one of those ford relays on a 20r truck and i like them. Easy enuff to wire.
