starting issue

Ok,got my first real irritating issue on my truck. I go to start it and nothing happens except one little tick and then I wait two seconds and try again and it starts up fine and this has been going on for a month or so and lately it still is doing it and starts on the second try but twice it took a 3rd try so it's time to get it fixed.

So guys, what is your diagnosis? Starter? Battery seems fine and I cleaned up the contacts and terminals but I do notice my positive side gets the white flakey crap on it after only a few weeks so I'm wondering if I'm having an issue with the cable.

+1 Starter contacts. I've done this simple job, it cost me $14 instead of $275 for a new one. 50,000 miles later, still starting great.

There are several write-ups in this forum.

Bryan over on T4R showed me that you can drop the starter out by disconnecting the front sway bar - do that and it essentially drops into your lap.

either that or disconnect the power steering lines and move them aside a few inches

So that is what happened to mine. of course im patient enough to wait until it doesnt start at all. last count was 50 turns of the key to start it. i still get the click every time.
so replace plunger and contacts will do it? i have been told it is my starter relay switch up in the dash since im getting the loud click. i never noticed it before this but then again the engine was turning over when the click may have hit. lol ty guys and any advice will be greatly appreciated.
