I have an 89 4runner with the 22re and when the engine gets to operating temp it wants to die at idle, sometimes it wont die but the idle gets real low and other times it will die, going through town it might die at 4 out of six 6 stop lights and getting off the highway it will die.
I put in a new pvc valve and gasket, my wires are less than six moths old, timing is dead on, tc was replaced along with the head befor i bought the truck, ran great since sept06 and now is giving me fits.
I also have checked for codes and i get none, i also have a chilton and a haynes manuel and both just leave me with no answers. i even tried raising the idle and all that does is allow it to idle higher when first started.

If anybody has seen this problem before please help

 

EGR all the way. The manual should give you some tips on checking it.

 

thank you for a direction to go, but i have to wait to replace that part. To much $$$ right know
