88 4runner fuel pump v6

i have a question\issue when i open the acc without starting the engine the fuel pump begins to work but never stops is this normal? also i checked the fuel pressure is at 48 to 50 psi. any comments or solutions?

My comment would be.... and?

Sounds like it's working to me.

Should be in the "on" position. Then pump kicks in, the pressure is right on the money. The pressure regulator drops it before it hits the fuel rails.

Sounds normal to me.

im not sure because in most car models the fuel pump begins work and stops in 5 seconds after you turn the switch acc on without starting engine
