87 Runner 4WD Shifter....

Hello All,

My 87 Runner's 4WD shifter seems abnormally close to the center console when in 2WD. Is there a way to adjust the way the sifter sits?

Thanks

If your talking about the shifter being close to the aft part of the console (trim piece around boot) then it's in backwards. Mine was like that when I bought my 4runner. They even had the trim piece notched. Just remove the 4 screws and turn 180 and reinstall. Hope this is what you were talking about.

is there a body lift on it? That might affect how close it gets as well.

Not entirely related, but if you have a body lift it can get in the way. I had to notch the metal plate that hold the rubber boots almost 2" to get my transfer shifter to go into 4-Lo. Now I can check on my tranny to make sure its still there from inside the cab hahaha
