87 pickup, comin' together
Motor was bored 20 over. standard bearings. Been putting it together the last 2 days.Look what the brown truck dropped off today!!!!
Did a bit of paint to help it look better then stock. Nothing particularly fancy or perfect, but I like the added touches.
Had a question. I took my guages out the other day to clean em up. I noticed a few plugs on the harness and was curious what options my truck doesn't have that yours does, or if ya just know.

Dropped the motor in today. Had a hard time getting the trans and engine to mate, but finally lined em up. Anyway I get to the intake. I pull the wiring harness through it, and hook up everything but this one blue plug. my egr does not have a plug on it. I cant tell what it is suppose to plug into Please help me!!!
I'd like to bolt up the upper intake but this plug has got me for the moment. I have everything else done but that plug is hindering the intake progress. I can't wait to crank it over.

Figured out where the plug went. I Got my truck started. Ran pretty good for the short time it was running. There sure is a whole lot of water, or was a whole lot of water in the exhaust. I couldn't see the neighbor's house a few seconds after it started.
I need some help with what I believe is a vsv that mounts on the valve cover. I can't find the vacuum diagram for an 87 that has it. Also what does it do? is this fuel related? I can't find it online, not sure what I'm searching for, and my manual doesn't have a clear enough picture that is accurate to what my truck has.
The vsv is blue with a greenish connector if I recall correctly. It is dark and I'll be out there tomorrow, and get a few pics taken.
Tomorrow I'll set the timing, run it long enough to break in the cam and Hopefully have no leaks or bs. I've spent a lot of time rebuilding this motor, so far so good!

I couldn't wait till tomorrow. Was looking at threads and doing multiple searches, Found one with a picture of the same part on his 87. The difference I see is my upper intake does not have the part with the screw type adjustment (guessing). I know one of the vacuum lines from the ps pump go to it and then a shorter line goes from that screw type adjuster thing to the throttle body. My engine doesn't have that part. It just has one of the ps pump lines directly to the throttle body and the other on a nipple close to where that adjuster piece would be. So basically I have no idea where the two vac lines that are on this vsv (also guessing) go.
My valve cover only has one of the vsv (guessing), The blue/green one on the back of buck87's picture. Where do the vac lines go? https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...m-line-234082/
Thanks guys.
