87 4runner wont start

I jumpered the diagnostic port and forgot i had it in cranked it up an drove maybe a 1/4 mile before i pulled over to take it out. Pullee it out hopped back in and tried to start it no dice. Checked fuses all are good from what i can tell. When trying to crank it clicks tried smacking the starter good too and that didnt work so did a push start to get it back home. Any ideas maybe something im missing here? My next move is to try and test the starter. Is there a procedure for testing the starter relay? Also pulled that battery and had it tested.

Just what did you have jumped in the check connector??

I think you might have a poor ground problem .

When you pulled over was the truck sitting level??

I have seen ground problems caused by flexing of the vehicle.

Time to break out the meter

Got it fixed the cable to the starter actually had become brittle and fell out of the connector after i had moved the cables like 10 times. Always helps to take time away and to have other peoples input it helps. Thanks guy! Also if your sure your connections are good check them again lol
