PS> The stripes on my truck are GOLD..... lol. Not sure I would wanna do that. But yes, if they WERE silver, that would be sweet! Actually, i was possibly going to paint it the same color as my engine cover and EFI plenum... that Alumicote hard as nails stuff, lol. Either that or that graphite or bed liner looking stuff, or maybe just black semi-gloss? Just thought the black might look weird with the chrome bumper.... Whatcha think?

From: Bryan Tx,
Wow, I had to go back and look at a picture of your truck & what do you know? The stripes REALLY ARE gold!! You could not possibly go wrong with painting the gaurd semi-gloss black. There are other small amounts of black on the truck for it to blend in with.

$100? They must look better in the pics than in person, lol. But if that is all you can get then I say keep them. Maybe just sell a pair? that way you can have a spare....and a spare, spare.

There's a lil dry rot, but they're structurally sound. Plus, they have NO side wall damage at all, and the tread is what you see.. Recent pic, 2 days ago, lol. Maybe they were just helping me to put a price out that would sell quick? I would be happy with 150$ firm. I'd rather have a new spare, so whatever that would cost, that's what I'll ask...how's that sound? lol. Besides, I have a lifetime guarantee warranty,.....roadside, etc. That was the ticket last set, too...because they replaced 2 in that 10 years, right within a year when I was really romping the thing, lol.

From: Bryan Tx,
Sell them for what it would cost to buy a brand new spare sound like a plan to me.

I'm gonna wait for the pics before I advise you on mounting that bumper gaurd. I would hate to tell you the wrong thing. Your titanium drill bits should be fine, You might drill a small pilot hole, maybe like 1/8", and then go strait to the size you need.

You'll get it, Thralldad! Let me know if you have any questions... I might have an answer, WHO KNOWS? lol... Good luck with that!

Jerry, LIME GREEN? hahaha. Black is probably the route, but I'ma look over everything they have and then try it out in paint shop.

Next post, Pic of Downey Mega Travel BJ's that I'm gonna throw in.

I'll post this on my build thread, and then hopefully have you guys visiting me over there, as I've learned plenty on suspension upgrades... but haven't touch my stock one much even, let alone some kinks I might run into... here they are. 80$ for BOTH! I asked a bud who has them, he paid 80$ each, so I guess I got a good deal? lol.........

They'll be going on with, most likely, 1" BJ Spacers and .5" torsion bar tweak, Lower HD BJ's, New 5100 Bilsteins(most likely) and probably Procomps in the rear(I KNOW, but I might have to just to be able to afford this all right now. We'll see. If I can get a buy 3 get one free thing right now, i'll get em all. But, I'm pretty sure I need a Steering Stablzr. too, so I might have to watch it, eh? lol. Saw Monroe has some really nice ones out now, but they're around 70$ each, minimum, and I can get the bilstiens for 80$ ....so yeah, not likely, lol.

Whatcha think?

Can I look at those tires Thursday? If they look as good as you say, I'll give you $150 for them.

Heh. I'm an idiot. I could have sworn I saw the current date on that post. Yeah, I'm keeping my eyes open for a deal, but my current tires still have a few thousand miles left, I think. Thanks for the reply.

I should revive THIS thread for the troubleshooting of gremlins instead of clustering up my build... Hmmm. Well, when I hit the gremlin hunt up again, I'll start here, most likely. lol.

Hahaha... Yeah, well, I passed smog, Teuf..... mainly cuz of a new CAT, but I'd also swapped back in the stock exhaust mani(02 bung on the mani instead of down pipe/not sure how much it had to do with anything, but COULD have)/put the stock pipe back in from collector to the new CAT, too.

Anyway, what I DID NOT fix was my same dang miss that I've had for, ....well, FOREVER! lol. NO, hahaha.... Actually, had the miss for a while before rebuild#1(maybe since 220K miles/rebuilt at 252K & 261K/now at 265,008 miles). I CAN'T be positive it's the same exact miss/caused by the same exact thing(whatever the heck that is!!! lol).... Can't even be sure it's a 'misfire', literally, lol.... But sure feels like it to me when it's stuttering at idle, ya know? Backfire/misfire???? NOPE, not a pop. Pinging? NOPE, not a jingle! lol. But OH YEAH, aside from that? MY MILEAGE, wow! I will post up what I get from this tank(all city/stop and go constantly/up and down fairly steep hills)...... But it's looking about the same as before swapping back in the stock exhaust, etc. (Although, that last tank was around 11mpg! AHHAHAHAA... Was seemingly getting worse.) ....... If I'm LUCKY, I'll get around 14MPG this tank... WE'LL SEE! lol.

Oh well, I'll eventually figure that out, ya know? (I hope! lol).. But I'm thinking it's rich too often.

I just went through smog horrors. Tested in March, big time fail. My log book showed my last 02 sensor was installed in 98. I replaced the 02 (Denso), and to my surprise it passed.
Tester said all was good no codes thrown.......sweet

HOLY CRAPULA, .... without a new CAT, you dropped that much on the HC and NOX levels??????????? Not that I'm a smog tech by any means... just seems almost impossible! WOW! Congratz! What a relief, 30$ part and VOILA! lol.
