87 22RE rebuild_ starting issues

crimsonnight

ok so i got a 1987 4runner 22re we have rebuilt the motor. tuesday night it fired for the first time and ran but would not idle. wed we went to set timing, jumped the terminals and now it will not fire. with starting fluid it will run. we have spark and fuel to the rail but the injectors arent spraying. now we set the jump wire in position before we started the motor which is where i think we went wrong.now the check engine light will not flash or even appear at all. if jumping it too soon did set this off what will have happened and how can we fix it. also when we try to turn it over the afm just clicks not sure if this is related but its worth noting. thank you

You're never going to get much advice with a thread title of "help."

Why don't you start over, and pick out the most interesting part? Like "No check engine light after jumping TE1 to E1"

While you're at it, do you have 12v on the B+ terminal? It sounds like the ECM is not powered.

Also try some paragraphs and maybe some capital letter at the beginning of sentences to make it easier to read.

But everything else seems to be working short of the injectors and the check engine. Wouldnt the ecm getting nothing effect more?

No need to post the same question in tow different forums.

In your other thread I suggested that you check the ignition fuse and EFI fuse in the fuse box behind the driver side kick panel. Use a meter to test the fuses because sometimes they can look good but be bad.
