86 Shackle length

I was taking a look at my rear shackles the other day(you crawl under your truck for no good reason too...admit it!), and noticed my rear shackles, they seem huge.

I'll post up a measurment and picture tommorow, but eyeballing it they're about 5" long, with a center "anti-twist" bolt. I read on 4crawler that the stock length is only 2".

I'm also really curious because my truck isn't lifted(yet), and it's rear rim-fender height is about 12 1/2".

If these arn't stock, I'll be pretty happy, as the front mounts look unchanged, so I might already have the shackles for my 63" Chevy swap.

i dont know about the length but i know the chevys are about 1/4" wider than the stockers at least on my 00 tacoma so you might have the same problem. i had to fab up some ghetto shackles because of that

These are my rear shackles. They seem longer than usual, but they work, so I'm not complaining.

looks about the same as my stock ones. then again I haven't really paid attention to them that much. I'll look next time I'm at my truck.

Re-read my page, stock length is ~3-1/2":

Here is a stock length (center) and a pair of 2" longer 3rd gen pickup shackles:
