86-89 wiring hardness

both 22're engines from the 86/89 use the same wiring hardness correct? everything from the tail lights to the air meter up front.. the 86 looks like a wiring night mare but all the lights work, signals etc. it also seems to need both leaf springs, ifs replaced. rotors, brakes, and wheels are rusted. steering rods creak, pitman arm is rusted * if i had a sand blaster i'd do the whole truck.

No they are not the same.

85-87
88
89-95

These are the correct year splits. (Someone correct me if I am wrong)

I believe the biggest difference are the fuel injector connections. I know 88 is the odd ball year that has it's own unique conector.

86 and 89 are NOT interchangeable, different injectors (and thus plugs), AFM is different, knock sensor might be different, ECU is different etc etc.
Yet another reason why I love my 22r carb truck.
