Question 86 4Runner Issue

I kno I have posted a lot about my 4runner here lately...loL..so here is another question?

i have finally got it all put together and stuff and when i go to start it, it will start and idle for about 3 seconds and then die...also, if i try to give it gas it will die

does anybody have any suggestions on what to try? anything at all would help...

would the air tube being off have anything to do with it?

i just drained the stale gas out of it that was sitting there for a year and put new gas in...

if you need any more information just let me kno, thanx a lot for the help guyz

if the gas has been sitting in there for a year that means it has been sitting in the lines for a year. change the fuel filter out.

This guy is having a similiar problem: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/22re-will-not-start-help-please-110076/

But I agree on getting the old gas out of there. When you say you got it put back together, what did you have apart?

Yes, the air intake hose needs to be there for the build up of vacuum. It's gonna do exactly what your sayin' without it.
