80 amp fusible link!
Well I ended up with an evening project. I tried to remove the 80 amp fuse link and ended up shredding it, because some engineer decided to be funny and make one that had to be bolted in. So My issue is how do i get the damn connector out of the fuse block to unbolt the cable so i can get a new link? There is a clip on the side that just will not release the assembly. Is there some vulcan trick to this? I am bout to break it. And the rain is just about here so i am gonig to get wet tonight. can somebody show me the way of removing this 80 amp link and the wires bolt to it. Seemed like every link to the BIG 3 ugrade didnt have pics or was an old link.

that's correct shaeff
1) unbolt the fuse box from the fender
2) split the ENTIRE fuse box in half, along the seam in the middle
3) the housing for the fuse will actually pop out seperately from the rest of the fuse box; pop it out threw the bottom (the bottom of the upper portion of the fuse box that is)
4) unbolt the two bolts holding the fuse in; it's two different sized bolts; a 10mm and an 8mm IIRC
then reassembly is just the reverse
had to do it when I upgraded my alt too
it pissed me off for about 15 minutes, as I destroyed the old fuse trying to remove it with some needle nose pliers, lol. then I though "oh I bet it's bolted in..."

I got it all the way till step #3. The fuse wont pop out the bottom, no matter how much i pry with the screw driver to try and release the tab.
That is what is killing me, i know i can smash it to bits and get to it, but i would rather not break it. It looks like i just put a flathead screw driver and it will sldie out but something is catching still.

WOW!! That was a pain in the arse. I tried it one more time with the screwdriver and finally the thing released. I got the new fusible link replaced and the mist, turned into a downpour just as i put the battery cables back on the terminals. I ran the tools inside and went back and cranked it up. That is what i get for trying a "small" project. At least now i know what is under the fuse block. I have my ground wires upgraded to larger ones, now i need to get the power circuit and hopefully get rid of the engine's rough idle when I put electrical load on the engine.
