63 chevies ready to go but a quick question

ok so I got my 63 chevy leaf springs and hangers but I want to know if I have to do a 6" shackle that all the kits seem to come with? I am asking cuz I want to use a 4" shackle so that the rear of my truck isnt racked and to be as low as possible. Has any one done this? pics would be much appreciated (at ride height) thanks!!!

As long as the shackle can swing enough (at 4" long) to handle the spring length change, it is just a matter of putting the shackle hanger far enough back to let that happen:
