my interlux paint is on backorder. just my luck.
i did wet sand the hood with some 400 grit this evening, and it did remove a lot of the orange peel. i'll take a pic before i paint it tomorrow with rustoleum diluted with o.m.s.

here are the latest pictures. i used o.m.s. this time instead of acetone, and the results are much better.
i could wet sand this coat and just about remove what little orange peel that is left. my first coat messed up everything. i should have sanded the first coat off, but oh well. my boat paint should ship tomorrow.

i am still waiting on the boat paint, if it has not shipped tomorrow, gonna have to go to another supplier. i hate companies that lie to you, the stuff was supposed to be in on the 15th, yes that was last week.

ups said the paint will be here tomorrow. i am going to prep the tailgate tomorrow afternoon and post the pics of the before and after paint job tomorrow night. the rustoleum looks pretty darn good after wet sanding. i just hope the color is ok, fire engine red might be a little redder than i would like. interlux does not offer many colors in the brightside line.

another thing i should mention about the rustoleum is that "aussie driver" had trouble when it rained. his paint was shiney but when it rained it would turn matte and look like someone just sanded it, and would need to be buffed. no problem with the brightside, though.

Thanks. its been 1.5years on rebuilding this thing. Engine rebuild, Lift, Sliders, Front bumper. etc.

Heres a shot of the front end. The stinger turned out a little too tight of a bend. But good enough. Just gotta install the 4 KC light onto the bumper.

tulsa, i just wanted to help out with this topic. i wanted to see for my self which one would work better, if the brightside levels out and does not leave any orange peel, then i learned something. i am curious to see if the brightside is as hard as the rustoleum when cured. i has only rained once since i painted my hood and it has not faded or dulled out.
