Agree, those seats are gonna hold it back from getting top dollar. Also white ones don’t seem to do as well as other colors on BaT.

And a turbo 4r up next! This one is going to be somebody’s new toy for Christmas.

This one would benefit from a bit more attention to detail and photos that weren’t taken in the dark!

Imho only 1 out of 10 4Runners on BaT have been worth a look. The very fact the vast majority were purchased recently, fixed up(debatable), and then listed on BaT is a red flag all by itself.
To each their own, but i can't imagine paying over book and not inspecting the vehicle personally.

i used to say the same about ebay motors but now i kinda disagree on this point... There have been some truly outstanding ones in the last 18 months. I look at Craigslist and ebay across the country and the most original, least hacked, lowest miles ones i can find are on BaT. And you are not restricted from inspecting the vehicle if you want to. Maybe in Cali you still have many to choose from but here they are extremely scarce. There are currently ZERO listed on CL from Maine to New Jersey. I think it’s only a matter of time before you start seeing them at Barret-Jackson or Mecum auctions.
I kind of agree with both points. Being on the east coast, rarely does a really nice one pop up. But it does look like the later offerings on BaT have been a little lazy, maybe just flipping for a quick buck with minimal investment. I mean the one being offered right now has a trashed driver seat and missing dash blanks. And that’s just from a quick observation scrolling. It’s really not that hard to make it show its best. I’d be embarrassed to present it like that on a major auction platform.
No disrespect if that person is here...

The problem with Craigslist is the ads expire, so unless the thread gets lots of traffic, all of the links will be dead within a short period and go unnoticed by most. Unless you’re willing to go the extra mile and upload/ host them.

Like this
Ever seen this before with a 22re??

that AZ in NH one is missing a lot of interior pieces, and not trivial to locate replacements. not a $9.5k truck in my opinion. i'm still amazed that my first '87 only had 97k miles on it when i purchased it in 2013, for $5k. and, rebuilt at 164k? what happened to it to need a rebuild that soon?
no rear bumper, exhaust as shown will NOT pass NH safety inspection, appears to have a body lift, etc.

There's an 88 4runner on display at (Staph?) Interstate Toyota, Longmont. Really nice. Not for sale (probably. But is anything ANY car dealer have, not 'available' for the right price?)
No rust, 5 speed, very good paint, light wear on inteior. Very nice example. Not refurbed or 'fixed up'. I was thinkin about you all while looking at it. You know, how you have one piece of steak and like 5 dogs wanting it? LOL.
Also among their collection is a 84 LandCruiser (also 5 spd), and a very original FJ (can't recall year). Sweetness all around.
To be fair, I did go there to get the little plastic clip that connects door handle to push rod. $5. Not bad for unobtainium. Even parts guy was shocked they had one on shelf.
(Probably why I did NOT win MegaMillions that day; used all my luck up at Toyota).

CL 4Runner Los Angeles/Orange county
Pricey, but interesting. More photos than the average CL seller. Cleaned it, too, another deviation from CL
I was never fond of red interior, but I can admire one that's complete and in good condition.
