4runner theft prevention help needed!
i am in college and have the top off of my 4runner and i was wondering what i can do to keep someone from starting and stealing my truck while i have the top off and am in my classes this summer. i was thinking maybe removing the rotor button or something??? any help is appreciated please reply

Seriously, maybe a hidden kill switch? I read about those over on Pirate all the time. The bottom line is to use a few layers of defense, make it hard for thieves to steal.
Oh, and a mean Pit Bull wouldn't hurt either.

I was thinking the under-the-hood fuse box might be a quick additional layer of protection. Maybe the EFI fuse, but I'm sure someone here would point us to the best choice..
Don't blame you about worrying about your vehicle at college. Only vehicle I've ever had stolen (1962 Vespa in 1962) was stolen at a night class at University of New Mexico, while in the US Air Force.

A hidden kill switch is very effective. Most people run a toggle or button inline with their fuel pump power wire. There are many places to hide one, some people do along the door sill under the carpet, some under the dash (more obvious) and some just wire an OEM button (say for lights or wipers etc) into a blank and make it so you have to rpess that to start the vehicle...
