4Runner starts but dies after a few seconds
I was cleaning the intake and K&N filter on my 95 3.0 this evening. I disassembled the intake, sprayed it down with throttle body cleaner, cleaned my K&N. I made sure all clams were tight and all vacuum hoses were connected, and reconnected the MAF. Now it starts and starts well, but only runs for a couple of seconds and dies? Any Ideas of whats wrong?

is the MAF connected? Sounds like it's firing on the cold start injector, then not getting and feed for air intake so the injectors aren't firing. Or MAJOR vacum leak

Just another thought.. you might have done something to your mass air flw sensor.. if that goes out.. or goes bad.. you wont run.
Had a similar experience.. and the conditions you talked about exactly.. would start.. then die.
go to your jumper/testing relay box by your engine relay box under the hood and jump fp+ to b+.. this will bypass your MAF and send power straight back to your fuel pump. If it starts, you know its your air flow senso.

It looks like one of the pins broke off of the MAF at the connection, more than likely my fault but not sure how it happened. I was actually just going to clean the air filter, but decided while I was there I would clean out the intake box and tract considering the shape of the filter. I didn't clean anything electrical on the MAF. Should I? And if so what type of sealant should I use when replacing the housing?
