4runner rear window problem
The rear window in my 86 runner stopped working, but it was working a few days ago. This is only in reference to the cab switch, my rear switch has not worked for a long time. I disconnected the switch and jumped the plug in order to see if it was a problem with the switch with no luck. I also checked all of the fuses behind the driver's side kick panel and they were all fine. I noticed that when I turn on the ignition (as is required to operate the window with the switch in the cab) I hear what sounds like the window relay clicking on and then clicking off when I when I turn the ignition off. I am not sure what would cause that but I am hoping to get some insight into what may be going on. I have also checked out 4crawler's page on the rear window. I want to know what I may be getting myself into before I tear out my panels to get to the relays.

Here is my little collection of links and info that I have found. 4Crawler has some great tips. Check post 185 and 186 as well.

Thanks, man. Looks like it was the rear wiper (186). I was fiddling with that rear wiper arm today and I must have gotten it in the wrong position while doing so. Crazy how such little things can make such a big difference!

Glad to see you got it. I run a jumer wire on mine to get rid of all of the safety's. The switchs get alot of gunk in them as well and usually a good cleaning fixes them. Also make sure both latches are engaged. Sometimes you need to make sure it is closed by pushing on it from the outside if the tailgat is not alighned correctly.
