$45 Butt Lift

$45 Butt Lift
I put on a set of 32 inch BFG All Terrains over the weekend and the sagging rear of the Yota was mucho evident. So a call was made to summit racing for an Add-A-Leaf kit. Got to my house in a day and then it took bout 2 hours to install. Not bad i got about 2 1/2 lift on the rear and now it is raked forward a touch which i like much better. I didnt want to spend a bunch on a lift kit since i will eventually swap in a solid front end.
Before

After

Kind of funny, the Add-A-Leaf will stiffen up the rear suspension, but going down the road it seems flexier. Thats Odd.

OH yeah i will have to respring it all reaoud when i SAS, but for now this will last till i can save up some money or have my wife finally get a job.
Actually those are not weights, they are the spots the old weights were on the rims. When i instaleld the tires, i yanked off all the old weights and had like 2 pounds of lead. I think the lazy people who installed the tires left the old weights on and then added more. Like maybe 3 sets of tires worth. I took them all off. And you know the BFGs are pretty balacned right now. But i need to get them done because there is a little vibration at higher speeds. Once i get the new weights on i will repaint.
I also removed the spare tire and now i can see all the way under the truck, kind of odd.

I will post up the part nubmers when i get home tonight. THe add-a-leaf was about $35 with the 9 buck handling fee. It was nice that it came from Savannah
The paint is factory, I ned to get at the hood and roof. Surprising the 4runner has zero body rust except for the Hardtop L trim and the spot under the windshield frame which i need to get at, but i was so happy to get this truck. I took the top off but had to put it back on just because i didnt have a soft top yet and i was not going to let it sit out in the rain and possibly rust. I want it to look nice, until the trail starts to put some nicks and dents in it
The rims are actually just some white steelies i painted satin black.

OK, the Summit PArt number is EXP-13120

It it 2 leafs plus a bag of 4 spring center pins, 2 large and 2 smaller. You cut them to fit. Also presoak your current center pin with penetrating oil or have a torch handy to heat up the nut to break free the rust. Also when i put it together i couldnt use the washers that came go before the nuts on the ubolts. The new leafs will only really allow you to get just the nuts onto the ubolts.
