4 skin ...

so I gave up my time to build a NEW frame for my "hot rod" to do this unit ..







RUST has taken over the body .

so plans include ..

NEW REAR 1/4RS
NEW FRONT FENDERS
NEW HOOD
NEW DOORS
NEW REAR HATCH REPAIR
NEW 'L' TRIMS

so started rippin into it today ...




started with the rear door ... pulling it off ... of course all the bolts broke , I hate that , but i guess its part of what I do ..


heated up the canopy windows and got those out (for the new L trims)


pulled the inner trim , and got the roof off .

got the other 1/4 off


and addressed the inner rust issues , and sealed it .


also started on the tailgate

took the new doors and new hood in for paint .... wanted to get the INNERS done . should be ready for me tomorrow .

more progress ...

Tailgate is all glued .. should be cured tomorrow , so I can get it back on the truck , in order to line up body lines .


also got the rear1/4s fitted , and ready for glue .

How far are you from Virginia?

How far are you from Virginia? British Columbia is above Maine isn't it? If so, it would probably take me a few days to get up there for a visit to the shop.

What does geography mean?

I guess I need to brush up on my geography don't I? Everytime I see a rusted out 1st Gen Toyota I think of www.toyotafiberglass.com It must be nice to be able to make a Toyota young again.

yep .. they run $140.00 ea. CDN .. + the ride .

more today ...

doors and hood inners are all done .. picked em' up.


got the hood installed .


rear door dried overnight , and got the edges trimmed , and cleaned up and also installed


so now , everything is lined up .. time to make the sides perminant .


1 side done .. next tomorrow .

almost ready for the final body work and paint .

got the old doors striped



and the mirror holes drilled , I had to install the vent windows , in order to locate the holes .. drilled and "nutcerts" installed .


front fenders on , done ... ready for paint . ya hooo




gawd ... I hate those bumpers ...
