3VZFE rebuild...

going to start a 3.4 swap into my 95 4runner in a couple weeks, but what do I do wiht the locked up 3.slow??? salvage yard that Im getting my donor engine from is out of state and isnt going to charge me a core charge or ask for the 3.0 engine since they dont wnat to deal with shipping...

3 options I have thought of are:

1. try to rebuild the 3.0 after I get done with the swap and sell it...

2. take all the non metal parts off and take the core to a scrap metal yard and see if they will buy it... pay by weight should give me some good money... not sure though...

or...

3. try to sell it to a engine rebuilder...

what do you ya'll think???

Boat anchor?

Lawn ornament?

I wouldn't put any work or money into it. Just put an ad in the local trader, some redneck will buy it if it's cheap enough. Then it's thier problem.

Yup, I would say it's worth as much as a plastic pink flamingo in terms of rebuildability (word?)... Gust GIVE it to some junkyard, or maybe try selling it, but you won't get much for your hassles...

EDIT: BTW: You DO know it isn't a 3VZ-FE right?

You could take it apart pretty easily, there's some pretty big chunks of aluminum to sell to the recyclers

This is the same decision I'm wrestling with right now! Oh, what to do, what to do...
