4WD Light

I was out playing on a trail just north of my house, and ran over a dead tree, nothing huge or stupid, and my 4wd light shut off. It's still in 4wd, but the light no longer comes on. also, my back-up lights no longer work, and i imagine teh two are tied in together, similar to a neutral safety switch? I'm sure someone out there could pin it right down, any help is aprecciated. thanks!!

Ya the light runs off a switch that is on the side of the Tran/Xcase. I would start there.

dunno if an 86 has ADD, but the sensor could be off of the differential too.

sounds like the branch hung up on the wiring and ripped a couple of them. both of the wires for the two problems you have run along the passenger side of the transmission to the transfer. the plugs connect to the wiring harness right next to the starter in front of the bell housing. not sure what shape the connectors are though. i have a wiring diagram that shows if you would like me to scan it and send it to you.
