Get the right tool - or build one as people here have done. I am doing this now & managed to get it the crankshaft pulley bolt loose by wedging a 24" wrecking bar into the pulley - but a bitch of time getting that thing close to 181 ft lb with that setup. You won't regret it.

If the crank pulley bolt is not tight, can the pulley with the timing mark slip? I cant time my 3VZE engine because I think the timing mark pulley is loose and slipping. Anybody else ever encountered this problem? Thanks!

If anyone doesn't have the tools or supplies to make this metal tool it can be made of 1x6 hard wood. I did and it works just fine.

There is a great thread by buckz6319 titled <1995 3vze Timing belt removal and replacement "With Lots Of Pics"> I don't know the differences between 92 & 95 but it may already have answers waiting for you.

Reminder... If the harmonic balancer is shot, then your timing mark will "creep" all the way around the outer circle of the pulley with the timing light on and timing will be VERY difficult...
