red4runner91,
Please stop just posting. Take a moment to search this site and maybe use google and search for toyota swaps. Do some reasearch on the topic so you have a little back ground information on what you are asking. There are other better alternatives to the 3vz. Easier swaps. Take some time to do some research. Otherwise you're just digging a hole for yourself.

Just so you can get a good idea my 22re will out pull , out run , out drive and get better m.p.g. then my 3.0 in my 4runners both set up exatcly the same gear and tire wise 5.29's and 35 x12.5 x 15 tires.
3.0 is arond 150-160 hp my 22re is about 140-145hp neither of which is a powerhouse nor a v8 if I was in your position I would 3.4 Toyota or 4.3 chevy it and forget the rest but of the two choices you are looking into the 22re hands down.

there has been a 3vzfe swap it has its advantages four valve heads, and a distributor, you do have to use the intake setup off a 3.4. the 3vzfe is basically a 3vz block with 5vz heads. it would be cool but for the money building it a 3rz 4cyl out of a newer taco would bolt right in and have the same power as the 3vze v6

Yeah was thinking the same thing as blake. I had a Taco with that 2.7 in it and it was a tough engine, felt way better than the 3VZE does in my current '92 pickup. I'd go with that in your 2nd Gen Runner or obviously the 3.4 if you want a V6, but I'd stay away from putting a used 3VZE in it...and that's from someone who actually likes the 3VZE.
