3vze Help

I Was Installing My New Oil Pump On The Rebuild And Forgot To Put The O-ring In Between The Block And Pump On The Output I Guess. But It Has Rtv Everywhere Around It. And The Motor Is Already Back In The Truck. Should I Leave It And Hope The Rtv Holds Or Should I Pull It And Fix It. Thanks, Also Is There Both A Front And Rear Seal On The Oil Pump. Thanks

depends on how lucky you feel. personally i would pull it and put the gasket and rtv in there just so i would not have to do it if it blew

if you do leave it, would you ever take a long road trip w/out becoming worried?

i would at least add a few "low oil" lights w/buzzers and a auto shutoff. but with that amount of work, why not just re-do it correct.

even if you re-do it, and find that there is an o-ring on there, you will have the experience of re-checking your own work.

its worth it in my book.

not sure if you can get the oil pan off easily or not, but i do know the bmw needs to raise the engine 3 inches to remove it, some have made a pulley system and loosened the motor mounts for a much easier (and faster) job of it.

hope that helps.
*be happy you remembered in time
