3vze compatability questions
I have a donor motor with some destroyed pistons that I'm using the top end from for my 4runner. I was wondering if anybody on here knew if the dummy water pump would work from a later 3vze on my early 3vze? I know the tensioner setups are different, and the later engine had a bunch of new parts on it that I want to swap over if I can. Specifically the timing set and oil pump. Also I had an auto transmission so I need the water pump for my 90 block with the water pipe to the oil cooler, are there any specifics that would make the pump non compatible with the dummy pump?

"dummy water pump"? Are you referring to the fan bracket? http://web.archive.org/web/201204051...67timingbe.pdf
The fan bracket changed sometime in '92 or '93 (depending on model) https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/T...630765040.html. So a fan bracket from "a" later 3VZE shouldn't fit "an" early 3VZE. I have no idea what you have, so I can't comment on whether your parts will fit together.
So far as I can tell, the oil cooler has nothing to do with Automatic transmission (my '94 with auto doesn't have the cooler, just the cap). The cap https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/T...149465010.html fits pretty much every 3VZE, so your oil cooler (which could be an option?) would almost certainly fit.
