302 swap is about to go down!
i have a 93 reg. cab pickup with a 22re in it and i am goin to put a high output 302 engine out of a 90 lincoln LSC into it. i picked up the car in cincinnati for 600 bucks and drove it 2 and a half hours home. i am planning on using the stock toyota trans and tranny with a northwest offroad bellhousing adapter. i have never done a swap like this before so if anybody has any tips, tricks, comments, etc. fill me in any help will be appreciated. my cousin is helpin me do it he has an 88 ford ranger with a 302 in it so he has a good idea whats goin on but still theres a few little things here and there that we will just have to play by ear. let me know what you think. heres a pic of my rig that the motor is goin in, and also a few of my donor car, its a real pearl to look at

you can use the harness from the car and save you about $500. It is a seprate harness just like the yota so it runs from the computer to the motor and nothing else. I am in the process of buliding my 5.0 for my yota. You already have a head start on me. I only have the motor.

the tranny should hold up, ive seen a chevy 350 with a holley 850 racing carburator on it with a 22r tranny, so he could keep the 4x4. its been a couple years, and its still runnin. just take care of it and dont pull a speed racer all the time or somethin

i made the front bumper out of 4x8 3/16 square stock,
the fan on the hood of the TOYOTA keeps the engine cooler when i'm wheeling, it sucks the heat right off the exhaust manifold. i'd say it runs 10* - 15* cooler. the aod in the car i would say is on its last leg, i'm not much a fan of it anyways.
