does any one have good info on the wiring diagrams for the 3.4 swap?
any info and pictures in particular would be helpfull

also what years are more desirable for this swap

I did it the easy way... I got the ORS harness. But I also did my swap over a year ago before alot of people had done the swap. I didnt have the time to figure out the diagrams.

there are a number of very large posts/threads on the "3.0 to 3.4 swap". search that exact phase, poke around a few threads and if you haven't found your answer, hopefully people will chime in after the hangovers wear off

thanks. I looked at ors but they want to much for what should be a $300 to $350 doller harness adapter. Its only hard to make it the first time when you do it as a business

 

WRONG! Mike has done a ton of research and spends a TON of hours making these harnesses. They are value priced, IMHO, and very comperable to any non TBI harness out there. The price is very fair. Don't like it? Do all the research yourself and make your own harness.

 

Exactly. When I got my harness, I thought "damn! I paid this much for this little bit?!?" But in reality, your paying for his research, all his time he put into research, making the adapter, and brand new connecters that he says are hard to get ahold of? My harness was delayed by like 3 weeks if I emember right because he was waiting for the connecters. Pretty much every adapter is different because pretty much every year Toyota changed some wire color which he had to go back through and figure out.

After I thought about it, the price isnt that bad. I didnt have the time to do te research and it was a key piece to making my rig run again. Who knows what would have happened if I had built my own adapter? I didnt want to find ou the hard way!

 

Just his opinon, don't flame the guy to ashes. True the harness may be a little pricey but when you do your swap you will see the research and consentration it will take for the wiring. It's not hard but it's time consuming and you have to be careful. Plus ORS has to get the parts up for your particular swap. I didn't get their harness but if I didn't know about wiring I would have gotten it in a heartbeat. Anyways, I PMed you with that info that you asked for. Let me know if I can help anymore.

 

I guess when you figure out how to make one you can start making them for others and selling them for $300-350 then.

Sorry about ticking you all off. I know there is alot of research, specially since there are about 50 different possible combinations of years. I'm in the middle of it right now, but tell him to make a peg board. I'm also very sure his will look better than mine. Although i wasn't aware it was so hard to get connectors. But last time i checked $650 dollars was alot of dough for and average joe.

 

Don't forget the endless phone calls answering questions about the whole 3.4 conversion. You will probably need to hire a full time employee to answer the phone just so you can get some work done. And of course the employee won't know all the answers so for the first year or two you'll still have to stop what you're doing and explain everything to someone who may or may not even buy anything from you. Then of course that employee you have finally gotten trained after 2 years will leave to go back to finish college and you'll have to start all over again with some newbe than doesn't know an engine harness from a heater hose.
