3.4 Swap shops

True...and as far as I know they did sell the Patrol diesel in Canada. America=continent USA=country.
This actually brings up an interesting point, but I'll start a new thread for that. Basically I'll be going back to the states for good, and wonder if I can take my Patrol with me going through Canada first. We shall see what the other thread says....
For now though its looking like I'll be taking the 4Runner to the guys in Eugene

the patrol was never sold in canada...as it's in north america....
if you want to import a vehicle into canada and license it for on-road use, it must be at least 15 years old. strange rule, i know, but it's the truth. I have a japan spec right hand drive subaru sambar pickup that was imported.
a canadian importer's website illustrating the problems with importing foreign vehicles into the states: "Yes, but unfortunately you won't be able to register it to drive on the street. Unless you can produce a letter from the manufacturer of the vehicle; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) crash tests the vehicle; or it's 25 years old or older you won't be able to obtain a Vehicle Identification Number, which enables it to drive on the road. Laws are different in every state, and there maybe be some strange loophole in Iowa or something; but overall our cars are not welcome. Do some research in your own state, lobby the government, run for governor and change the law to 10 years."

Ok, I thought the rule in Canada was 10 years or older, not 15. Although, there were sevral cars sold in Canada that weren't sold in the US, north america or not. Oh well...
Anyway...back on topic! Any other shop suggestions to do the 3.4 swap??
Update: Just received info from the Canadian DOT. Basically cars less than 15 years old have to meet US DOT standards to be imported into Canada. Thus I would not be able to import it into Canada, then into the US. Like I said...oh well.

Just out of curiosity I went to the LC Engineering page to look at how much their 5VZ-FE costs...12 grand!!
Whaaa?? Has anyone asked how much horsepower that one makes? Cause for that much (and thats just the long block) I would expect a lot.

after ORS stopped i havent been able to find anyone who does it. there was a guy in idaho doing supra swap kits. do you know if any of those guys in eugene do other swaps or just the 3.4 i am down in salem often so it would be interested to find out if they do anything else

Yeah it seems like after ORS shut down most swaps are either home made or done by shops that don't neccesarily specialize in that type of swap.
I didn't ask if they do any other sort of swaps...it's possible, but I think they would have said so on their craiglist ad.
