I did this a long time ago on my front & rear diffs and I haven't had leaky seal problems at all.

Has anyone else noticed that MudHippy responds to about 90% of your inquiries?? You're the son!

Don't suppose you have p/n's or a good write-up link for inner seal replacement? Found the one for 3rd gen and have been searching for about 1 hour so far. Came across the shade-tree method, but no p/n's..

90313-48001 outer rear axle seal
90301-88077 O ring for bearing retainer

It's JIS B 0203-2(⅛"-28 BSPT). But ⅛"-27 NPT is close enough to work.
